This week there has been a great deal of emphasis placed on fake online followings and bought Twitter followers in the digital world. It all seems a little bit juvenile… which is not the case with today’s feature on personal branding and authenticity.
I’ve seen him play but have never had the pleasure of meeting Mark Stent, one of the local masters of authentic personal branding. Upon first inspection he looks like he’s the type of guy that would give you a tombstone piledriver worse than one from The Undertaker on the pavement if you over stepped your boundary, even just a smidgen. Clearly, you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, or in this case, a dj by his muscles- Mark shows his sensitive side in this particular ad, raising his profile in an authentic manner, showing that personal branding is alive and well. Some of the people out there could stand to learn a thing or two from this video.
He knows who his target market is and executes an awesome video as well as aligning himself with a brand that represents who he is. (Remember… safe to take with alcohol)
