If you’ve ever watched the Netflix reality series ‘The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes’ then you’ll know that some mind-boggling, exquisite property development exists out there. Some homes are worth money in a price range we can’t even fathom while others are incredible homes built from affordable and often recycled material.
When it comes to world-class property development and awe-inspiring homes in South Africa, look no further than the Fresnaye-Clifton-Camps Bay strip. But there’s another area in the heart of Cape Town where you can find homes fit for millionaires – Higgovale – and recently a property there sold for R22.5 million, making it the most expensive inner-city apartment ever sold. So what’s so special? I mean, with 22 million you could buy beautiful vacant land and build your dream home – so what makes this Higgovale hideout so worth it?
The 290 square metre property was sold in less than two months by a local buyer. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two garages, an open plan kitchen, a dining area, a patio of course and a rather small private swimming pool in a “tropical garden” with clear mountain, city and ocean views… and?
Apparently other than the standard features listed above, the simple fact that it’s a penthouse, Higgovale raised the price absurdly. Take a look below at what R22 million is apparently worth – not a whole lot in our opinion!
