Everyone’s talking about Max Barbakow’s time loop comedy “Palm Springs” since it became the most sought-after movie at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

The film sold to Neon and Hulu in a deal reportedly worth $17.5 million, making it the most expensive festival deal in history – but only by 69 cents. However, later reports claim the companies actually spent $22 million to purchase the Lonely Island-produced comedy. So what are all the critics fussing about?

Palm Springs tells the story of carefree Nyles and Sarah, a reluctant maid of honour, who experience a chance encounter at a Palm Springs wedding. Things start to get complicated when they find themselves unable to escape the venue, themselves, or each other.
