Name: Dale Haricombe
THE SPOKEN WORD
The middle ground… A place where most artists are finding their home and Frenzy has shown his mettle in the bridge between electronic and minimal with a niche-inspired yet awe-inspiring project. A Cape Town export with a knack for the unorthodox, Dale breathes his music and his passion flows through his production. We have listened and give recognition to his newest output “Solace” and we feel you should do the same. Keep your eyes on this one… He is on the up and up!
1) Three words to describe FrenzY
Dale: Melodic, Energetic, Dedicated
2) Where did the name FrenzY originate from?
Dale: FrenzY was actually my gaming name when I was younger, and when I started DJ’ing it kinda stuck with me. It’s been my nickname for a while.
3) Artist To Watch Out For?
Dale: Polar Inc (Adam Spence) – The name isn’t a new one in the scene, he used to play a lot of shows few years back. However, he is currently making a huge comeback in the scene, putting out some absolutely huge releases. I am also currently working on a collab with him. The man is incredibly talented! Expect big things!
Dale: Decoder (Alex Marias) – Also known by his successful Drum n Bass alias “Phaze”, he is currently working on launching a new techno alias, with absolutely huge productions. I’ve had the privilege of listening to some of the unreleased stuff and it’s nothing short of greatness.
4) Advice For The Dreamers, Trendsetters & Up N’ Comers Out There?
Dale: Don’t be afraid rearrange your priorities for a while. In order to succeed in something you’re passionate about, you need to be willing to disappear for a while, focusing all your free time and energy on your goals. Stick to what you know, but don’t be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone. Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. There is no substitute for hard work. And most importantly, you never know how close you are to achieving your goals and having your break through, so never give up.
5) What do you have going on currently? What can we look forward to?
Dale: There’s quite a lot going on at the moment, especially in the studio. I just released a new track this week, “Solace”. I’m currently grinding hard in studio to get as much music out as possible. I have some big releases with international headliners DoubKore, Jon Mesquita and another which I can’t mention just yet, as well as two collabs with RoomMush coming out in the next couple of months. I’m also working on some originals and remixes that will be coming out later this year. Also quite a few gigs in June.
