Next year March, Cape Town will be treated to a brand new festival – one with a wholesome twist. Equilibrium Day Festival is the very first of its kind. Taking place in March 2019 at Nelson’s Creek Wine Estate in Paarl, the 12-hour festival strives to represent the definition of Equilibrium – a state of balance.
The event will celebrate the undeniable union of humanities, arts, health/wellness, music and lifestyle. Festivities will take place in the form of talks & workshops, onsite activities, food vendors, wine tasting and an incredible music lineup featuring the likes of Artelligent, danalog, NØRDIC, Wulfsohn and their recently announced headliner, iconic DJ/producer hailing from Germany, NICONÉ [Dantze | Katermukke].
Alexander Gerlach started Niconé in 2007 as a project promoting music and fashion – he has a knack for
graphic design and an interest in clothing alongside his passion for music. Since the beginning of his
music career, he’s released a string of albums and EPs, both solo and with artists like Sascha Braemer,
Jan Blomqvist, and Philip Bader on labels like Stil vor Talent, Katermukke, and Bar 25 Music.
Dantze, influences include that from genres such as deep house, tech-house, old-school electronic music as well as non- electronic genres. But the classifications aren’t what’s important to him – it’s all about conveying a feeling, something Niconé does masterfully.
